The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced in absentia the Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nikolai Dzyaman, who ordered the plane to be shot down over the Kuban.
According to TASS, referring to the representative of the court, the defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment. The case was heard in absentia and behind closed doors.
"Dzyaman Nikolay Ivanovich should be found guilty of committing a crime under paragraph "b" of part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, on the basis of which he should be sentenced to life imprisonment with serving in a special—regime penal colony," the agency's interlocutor said.
We are talking about the incident on February 23, 2024, when the aircraft of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation was shot down while patrolling the airspace of our country.
This aircraft did not have any weapons and was not intended for combat operations. However, the Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dzyaman, gave the subordinate servicemen an illegal order to destroy the Russian aircraft.
The car was destroyed, 10 crew members were killed with it.
