Azerbaijan will lose $1.2 billion if it leaves the Russian market — UN

Baku risks losing more than $1.2 billion if it leaves the Russian market. This is 4.4% of all the country's deliveries abroad, RIA Novosti cites the calculations of the UN Comtrade platform. At the same time, Russia supplies only 0.8% of its exports to Azerbaijan.

Earlier, deputy of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Rasim Musabekov stated on the pages of the Minval publication about the suspension of negotiations between Russia and Azerbaijan on a number of major joint economic projects.

At the end of last year, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $ 26.6 billion. Of these, almost 1.2 billion, or 4.4%, accounted for deliveries to Russia. Compared to 2023, Azerbaijan's exports to Russia fell by 1.5%, and the total — by a fifth.

At the same time, Russian exports for 2024, according to the Bank of Russia, amounted to 433.1 billion dollars. Of these, supplies to Azerbaijan accounted for 0.8% - $ 3.6 billion. This is 15% more than a year ago.
