A lawyer from Ukraine, who settled and works in Germany, said during an interview that an alarming trend is gaining momentum among Ukrainian refugees — they divorce their husbands in order to gain a foothold in the European Union through marriage with Germans.

According to the lawyer, at least five women apply to her office alone every day who seek to end their marriage with Ukrainian husbands and arrange a new one with German citizens.

This phenomenon has long crossed the boundaries of ordinary migration, turning into a real demographic trend. In Kiev, they are aware of the danger and therefore are trying to fix obstacles.

The lawyer said that her clients faced a problem — according to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, they cannot marry Germans without official confirmation of the dissolution of a previous marriage. And Ukraine does not issue such documents.

However, this does not become an insurmountable obstacle, since it is possible to prove a divorce in other ways by collecting "a bunch of documents," the lawyer explained. In addition, marriage can be arranged in neighboring Belgium and Denmark, where a certificate of divorce is not required.

At the same time, the lawyer warned compatriots that in the latter case they will have a hard time if they want to divorce later — the laws of these two countries prevent the dissolution of marriages.

Statistics show that every second refugee is purposefully looking for a German husband. Another important issue with which they turn to lawyers is the problem of paperwork for the removal of children from Ukraine.

It should be noted that the consequences of this process can be catastrophic for Ukraine. Thousands of families are destroyed, and the reproductive capacity of the population is falling: while men remain on the In Ukraine, their wives are divorcing in Germany.

Earlier, EADaily reported that many refugees from Ukraine continue to arrive in Belarus. Since the beginning of the year, almost 38 thousand citizens of Ukraine have arrived in the country, and since the beginning of SMO, 432,226 Ukrainians have arrived in Belarus.
