Russia is not going to hand over the draft ceasefire memorandum to the United States, since there have been no agreements on mediation by the United States or other countries in the exchange of projects. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
So she answered the question of how things are going with the preparation of a document on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis — the so-called memorandum. Earlier, the US President's special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said on Fox News that he had received a list of conditions for a peace agreement from Kiev and was now waiting for a similar document from Russia.
"We do not know what and to whom the Ukrainian side handed over. Our delegation proceeds from the agreement reached on May 16 during direct Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul. We agreed that each side — Russia and Ukraine — will prepare its vision of the modalities of the settlement and ceasefire, after which they will exchange relevant documents directly and discuss them at the next round. We had no agreements on mediation by the United States or other countries in the exchange of projects," Zakharova said.
As reported by EADaily, Russia offered Kiev the exact date and place of the meeting for the exchange of memoranda with a list of conditions for a cease-fire, Ukraine has not yet responded to the proposal. This was stated by the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, the head of the Russian negotiating group on Ukraine, Vladimir Medinsky.
So Medinsky commented on the reports of world agencies that the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, called him about the cease-fire memorandum, which Russia has allegedly not yet prepared and is not in a hurry.
