The administration of Donald Trump has provided Ukraine with an improved draft agreement on the extraction of minerals between the countries. This is reported by the Axios portal with reference to Ukrainian and American officials, as well as three other knowledgeable sources.
According to one of the informed sources, several aides to the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, urged him to sign the updated proposal in order to avoid further clashes with US President Donald Trump and allow him to justify further US support for Ukraine.
"There have been significant improvements in the recent project, and it complies with Ukrainian legislation," the source said.
The initial draft of the agreement states that 50% of the proceeds will be transferred to the United States, that the agreement will be under the jurisdiction of the New York court and the deal will prevail over any other trade agreements of Ukraine, two sources who have read the document said.
Ukrainian and American officials and two knowledgeable sources told Axios that negotiations have continued in recent days and the United States has presented Ukraine with an updated version that takes into account some of Zelensky's concerns. Another source said that some articles that concerned Ukrainians, including the fact that the deal is under the jurisdiction of the New York court, were deleted.
As reported by EADaily, Ukraine is ready for a really useful agreement with the President of the United States Donald Trump on investment and security. This was stated today by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, following a meeting with the special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kelog.
