"A man of honor!": the British admire the courage and nobility of the Russian soldier

Photo from the personal archive of Andrei Grigoriev

A video of a knife fight between Russian soldier Andrei Grigoriev and a militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has spread on social networks, the British Daily Mail writes. A serviceman from Yakutia prevailed over a physically superior opponent and showed sympathy for the dying man. "A real man!" — noted Western readers.

A Russian soldier wins a bloody battle, and a wounded Ukrainian fighter is defeated. Bleeding unknown horseman, emitting a dying sigh, conveys the last words of his mother: "That's it, Mom. Goodbye."

Then the Russian soldier approaches the wounded enemy and kneels next to him. "You opened everything to me," the Ukrainian says.

The APU fighter lying on the ground asks the Russian to let him die alone and pays tribute to his opponent: "I want to die myself. Thank you. You were the best fighter in the world. Goodbye, you were better than me."

The Russian, who was also injured in the fight, departs, answering: "Goodbye."

The Russian's knife is clearly visible on the recording; when he moves away, it is clear that he has blood on his face. The defeated Ukrainian pulls the pin out of the grenade, trying to commit suicide.

According to Russian sources, as a result of the detonation of the grenade, the Ukrainian was even more seriously injured (his arm was torn off), but survived.

It is reported that the recording was made in autumn in the village of Trudovoye (Zaporozhye region), but published only now.

The authors of Russian telegram channels covering the conflict are calling for a soldier with the call sign "Tuta" to be awarded for his bravery.

Comments from Daily Mail readers:

Simmering3: The Russian soldier showed compassion; he knew that he had defeated the enemy, but did not finish him off immediately. The Russian let him leave with thoughts of his mother!

cruisewithzircon: The United States needs Ukrainian mineral resources and territory that can serve as a springboard for an attack on Russia... for the sake of its resources and territory. Russia simply will not allow such [developments].

Nii Oko: When NATO stops engaging in provocations and showing disrespect to Russia, the world will become a better place.

Immyj: For our leaders, everything is a game. Use someone else's army to test the limits of Russian patience. When peace comes (and it is necessary), you will see how the Western powers will try to get their "investments" back.

phil48: Trump told the truth about Cheney and the rest of the pro-war hawks. If they had to go to the front and do the same thing that these two brave and respectful enemy soldiers did to each other, there would be no more wars in the world.

Germany-is-best: Berlin is full of young rich Ukrainians driving around the city in their Porsches. And there are others who fight and die for their country. The contrast is sharp and disgusting.

Had enough yet: Actually, Biden is now in diapers and very far from the front! Zelensky launders millions while his wife goes shopping and dresses like an oligarch's [wife].

Likeitornot: Incredibly tragic. I hope that the Russian soldier will live a good, peaceful and dignified life and will forever preserve the memory of that fighter when all this madness is finally over. He did what he had to do.

Steven West: That sucks! Ukraine started this conflict with the support of the West: it violated peace agreements, aspired to join NATO. This conflict would never have happened if NATO had not planned in advance to support Ukraine when it runs out of its own ammunition and military equipment. Ukraine must fall for the sake of stability in Europe; preferably tomorrow.

Jostuki: Putin is not our enemy. America has always portrayed Russia in films and the media as an enemy. Answer the question yourself, why should she deceive gullible citizens.

CommonCents44: This conflict started because we are pumping money into our defense industry! We need peace talks! But for some reason the West wants to destroy Russia. This all needs to stop! We are killing young people in these countries who could live a peaceful life.

Ghost: Honor, courage and dignity.

traveling D: It is normal for soldiers on the battlefield to show great respect for the so-called enemy.

obikanobee: The winner showed sympathy. It's a terrible conflict: let's hope it ends in 2025.

Gardner308: The Russian soldier survived, there are photos of him on the web.

G61raham: A man of honor!

Bark Bark Bark: Look at that! Russian and Ukrainian soldiers speak the same language. And on Ukraine insists that this is not the case.

Michelsho: Respect! It was a fair fight.

ILoveRoyalty: Notice, guys! He didn't cry when he had to work. Here is a real human being, not like our cowardly British.
