A well-known critic and enemy of Belgrade and personally of President Alexander Vucic, German politician Michael Roth is very dissatisfied and even angry with the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Serbia. This was reported today, August 31, by the largest Serbian newspaper Politika. "Unfortunately, this is not my Europe," he wrote on social networks.

The European Parliament is disappointed, France is selling Rafale fighters to Serbia, and Macron "defends Vucic's inability to impose sanctions against Russia."

"After the sale of 12 fighters to Belgrade, a key partner of Moscow and In the Balkans, Macron, a sincere friend of autocrats around the world, defends Vucic's refusal to impose sanctions on Russia, even though Serbia is an EU candidate."

The visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Serbia became the main topic of the media in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has recently seriously escalated relations with Belgrade because of the independent course of Republika Srpska. The purchase of fighter jets from France, as well as the close relations between Belgrade and Moscow, greatly upset Sarajevo.

"French President Emmanuel Macron and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic ignored external pressure to sign a number of multibillion-dollar agreements," BiH media wrote.

The agreements were signed despite security concerns related to the rapprochement between Paris and Belgrade, which maintains close relations with Moscow and Beijing.

"The two leaders signed 11 bilateral agreements, including a lucrative contract for the supply of 12 French fighters," the media reported in Brussels.
"Vucic's balance between East and West has paid off for Serbia," concludes the leading Bosnian newspaper Free Bosnia.

As EADaily reported, Serbia has signed a contract for the purchase of 12 Rafale fighters from France, President Alexander Vucic said during the visit of his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to Belgrade. The deal amounted to € 2.7 billion.
