Azarov: The European Union halves quotas for Ukrainian agricultural products

The European Commission plans to more than halve the volume of quotas for Ukrainian agricultural products that are supplied to EU countries.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov wrote about this in his Telegram channel on Saturday, March 14. According to him, now the volume of supplies from Ukraine's EU membership is $ 2.59 billion.

"After reducing quotas, it will decrease by $ 1.43 billion and will amount to only $ 1.16 billion, or about 45% of the current volume," Nikolai Yanovich predicts.

According to his calculations, wheat exporters will suffer the most — exports to the EU may decrease by almost 80%. Sales of sugar, poultry meat, eggs, honey and apple juice will also decrease.

He recalled that earlier the European Union refused to postpone the introduction of a carbon tax for Ukraine, despite the fact that this would cause massive damage to the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
