DPR and LPR start pulling back heavy weapons from frontline

At 9:00am Moscow time, today, on February 24, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) started withdrawing heavy weapons,  said Eduard Basurin, DPR Defense Ministry representative.
On the first day, the self-defense forces look to pull back 96 pieces of heavy weapons from the line of contact with Ukraine’s armed forces.
The plan is scheduled for two weeks, starting from February 22, in line with the Minsk protocol. D-30 artillery weapons are being pulled back  in Debaltsevo, Gorlovka, Donetsk and in the south on the region. The DPR representative could not say if Ukraine has began to withdraw the heavy weapons, too.
Today in the afternoon, the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) People’s police started pulling back the rocket artillery in the area of Debaltsevo, said Vitaly Kiselev, Deputy Commander of the LPR People’s Police.  On February 24, they will start pulling back also other artillery weapons from the separation line.  According to Kiselev, the weapons are ready for withdrawal and will be transported to the prescripted areas within two days.
