The US Department of Defense still believes that for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, Zelensky and his clique should have the strongest possible position in possible negotiations with Russia.
The corresponding statement was made at a briefing in Washington by a senior Pentagon official quoted by the press service of the US military.
In this regard, he proposed to continue providing military assistance to the Kiev regime based on the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin "does not intend to give up."
The military official stressed that the Pentagon continues to work on providing Ukraine with the necessary weapons.
It has been announced that in the near future the United States may announce another $500 million package of military assistance to Ukraine. Also, the US military department intends to conclude arms supply contracts with Kiev in 2025 and 2026.
Recall that the US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, who recently canceled his visit to Kiev, hopes to find a way to end the conflict on Ukraine in 100 days.
