The head of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, defended the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, saying that its definition as "far right" is incorrect.
The billionaire's statement was made against the background of the recent results of the elections to the landtag (local legislature) in Saxony-Anhalt.
On the social network X, Musk entered into a discussion about the place of the AfD in the political spectrum.
"Extremely centrist is a more accurate definition," Musk wrote, responding to posts criticizing the party, including as "extremist."
In addition, Musk congratulated the AdG leader Alice Weidel on the voting results.
"Well done!" Musk also wrote in response to Weidel's post congratulating the leading candidate from the party, Ulrich Sigmund, on the election result.
Earlier, Musk stated that the AfD is the "only hope" for Germany.

He also said that the people of Germany "pay too much attention to the guilt of the past." He stated that "children should not be guilty of the sins of their great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers."
