BRICS is getting stronger, as all the many Western media, political scientists, economists and experts write about. The reason is that the association now includes Indonesia, which is the fourth most populous country in the world.
According to Gazeta, BRICS is getting stronger. The Brazilian government has confirmed that another country is officially joining the bloc as a full member. And this state in Southeast Asia has a population of 282 million people.
EADaily reminds that Brazil will chair the BRICS in 2025, confirming that all member states have approved Indonesia's accession. Reuters also reminds that this event was part of the actions aimed at expanding the bloc and approved at the BRICS summit in Johannesburg in 2023. But then Indonesia decided to postpone the official accession until the formation of a newly elected government, and President Prabowo Subianto took office last October.
The Indonesian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the country's accession to the BRICS testifies to the country's "increasingly active role" in global issues. The official Jakarta also adds that the purpose of this decision is to create a truly global bloc. And the latter, informs Deutsche Welle*, should be "more inclusive and fair."
