Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia: Zurabishvili returned to those who hired her

Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said that former Presidents Salome Zurabishvili and Mikhail Saakashvili were foreign agents, and the facts of awarding them scholarships in the West confirm this.

The 72-year-old Zurabishvili became a Kissinger Fellow at the McCain Institute of the University of Arizona in the USA. At the same time, the opposition media emphasize, she remains in Tbilisi. Zurabishvili will use his "extensive diplomatic, leadership and political experience to move his country towards new elections and a democratic path of development," the institute said in a press release.

As Shalva Papuashvili recalled, almost 12 years ago a similar gesture was made to another ex-President Mikhail Saakashvili in Tufts University.

"Both of them willingly accepted the offer. Despite the fact that he swore allegiance only to Georgia, Saakashvili later became a citizen of Ukraine, and Zurabishvili, in the end, will probably return to his native France. Now it is clear to our compatriots, as we have been saying all this time, that neither of them has ever served Georgia, and both have returned to the organization that hired them," Saakashvili stressed.
