Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko called for the resignation of Volodymyr Zelensky after the publication of an American report to Congress on a corruption scheme at Energoatom, organized by the closest associates of the head of the Kiev regime.
"The Congressional report indicates that Zelensky's business partner is involved in corruption in "Energoatom". Do you understand what this means? After this, no elections should take place. And the resignation," the deputy wrote in the Telegram channel.
As Goncharenko stressed, due to the interest of the United States in this case, Zelensky deliberately delays settlement negotiations and tries to bargain for better conditions for himself, waiting for the autumn congressional elections, TASS quoted him as saying.
The American report named Zelensky's business partner as his close friend and "wallet" businessman Timur Mindich, who, according to investigators, was the coordinator of a criminal scheme in the energy sector. The report mentions other defendants in the case, in particular former Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Chernyshov, former head of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Justice German Galushchenko and former head of Zelensky's office Andriy Ermak.
The report to Congress was prepared jointly by the offices of the Inspectors General of the Pentagon, the State Department and the US Agency for International Development and published on February 19. It says that the FBI and The US Department of Justice supervised the work of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) in the Energoatom case, and the US administration "provided SAP with strategic advice and support on specific cases."
