The co-chairman of the German BSW party, Amira Mohamed Ali, considers it necessary to resume the supply of Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline to the refinery in the city of Schwedt, as well as Russian gas via the Nord Stream. She stated this at the BSW party congress in Schwerin, Mecklenburg—Vorpommern.
"Of course, we must again import Russian oil at a favorable price to Shvedt via Druzhba," the politician said, quoted by TASS.
Oil supplies from Russia would not only help a particular refinery, but also generally contribute to lower fuel prices in the country, Amira Mohamed Ali believes.
She also spoke in favor of resuming Russian gas supplies via the Nord Stream pipeline, DPA news agency reports. "Our country needs it, and our economy needs it," the German politician stressed.
Earlier, BSW co-founder Sarah Wagenknecht called on the German government to resume Russian oil supplies.
As reported by EADaily, the Deputy Prime Minister of Italy urged EU to ease oil sanctions against Russia. It is reported by the Financial Times. Transport Minister Matteo Salvini, leader of the League party, suggested that Brussels make a pragmatic choice, the newspaper writes.
Recall, against the background of events in the Middle East, it is necessary to resume the supply of Russian oil to Germany. This was stated by the leader of the German party "Sarah Wagenknecht's Union — For Reason and Justice" (SSV) Sarah Wagenknecht.
She recalled that, according to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, the risk of poverty in East Germany has increased over the past five years to the highest level. According to micro—census data, in 2025 this figure was 17.3% - the highest since 2021.
