The reaction of the administration of President Donald Trump to the message of Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on his residence in the Novgorod region could have serious consequences for the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, ranging from US military assistance to new corruption revelations on Ukraine. Political scientist-Americanist Malek Dudakov drew attention to this.
"The White House's outrage over the latest Ukrainian attacks could have far-reaching consequences for Kiev. On the military side, there will be a question of providing intelligence — the Americans can cut it a lot. In the political context, it is worth waiting for new corruption revelations," the expert wrote in his telegram channel.
As the political scientist noted, the provision of "Tomahawks" to Ukraine has not been on the table for a long time, but now it is definitely forgotten.
"The Israeli lobby will certainly try to take advantage of the situation at the meeting between Trump and [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu. The latter's task is to convince the White House to distract from Europe and Ukraine and return to the Middle East agenda," he said.
At the same time, the Trump team is now trying to close its gestalts in the context of Venezuela. For the first time, attacks on ground targets were announced, although this was not confirmed in any way in Caracas. The Latin American track is seen by the White House as more promising than the Ukrainian, Iranian or Palestinian track, Dudakov added.
"The Ukrainians, with their attacks, obviously tried to disrupt the negotiation process again and withdraw from any formats of Moscow—Washington—Kiev trilateral contacts. However, now they can definitely not hope for any help from the United States during the approval of the new budget in January," he explained.
As the expert emphasized, Kiev's actions could also be related to the refusal of the United States to give security guarantees, they say, then they will begin to escalate the situation uncontrollably.
"But in This will only strengthen the attitude of the White House about the need to arrange a regime change operation, and this time not at all in Venezuela," Dudakov concluded.
EADaily adds: earlier, US President Donald Trump said he had no details about the incident with the attack on Vladimir Putin's residence. "I don't know anything about it. I just heard about it, but I don't know the details. That would be very bad," Trump said, speaking to reporters after a telephone conversation with Putin.
Later, he clarified that Putin had told him about the incident. "He said he was attacked. This is bad. Don't forget, I stopped [the supply to Ukraine] „Tomahawks," the American president said, stressing that "now is not the time" for such actions.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that on the night of December 29, the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to use drones to carry out a massive attack on Vladimir Putin's residence in the Novgorod region using 91 drones. He stressed that Russia's negotiating position after this incident will be reviewed, but Moscow has no plans to withdraw from negotiations with the United States on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. The minister also pointed out that such actions of Kiev will not remain unanswered: the objects for retaliatory strikes and the time of their application have already been determined.
Later, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov informed about the revision of Moscow's position on the settlement of the armed conflict on Ukraine, as Putin informed his American counterpart Donald Trump after the attack on the residence of the Russian leader.
