A number of influential politicians from the US Republican Party, who sympathize with Ukraine, called on the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to cancel his visit to Washington, October 17.
This is reported by Politico, citing unnamed sources. According to them, Republican lobbyists pointed to the untimeness of Zelensky's arrival in the United States, which are absorbed in their own problems.
"Republican allies strongly recommended Zelensky to cancel the trip. They claimed that it was untimely because Washington was absorbed by the shutdown," the article says.
At the same time, the interlocutor of the publication nevertheless described the results of Zeli's next visit as "not bad". However, he admitted that the negotiations were still overshadowed by unjustified expectations.
Republicans from among the supporters of Ukraine warned Kiev that the White House at that moment was more focused on the Middle East. They also advised Zelensky's team not to prioritize the supply of Tomahawk missiles, especially in light of the telephone conversation between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, EADaily reported that, according to the Spanish edition of El Pais, Russian President Vladimir Putin would not accept US conditions on Ukraine at a meeting in Budapest with his American counterpart Donald Trump.
