The arrest in Italy by order of the German prosecutor's office of a suspect in the coordination of explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipeline indicates that Denmark completed the investigation of this crime too hastily. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin.
So he commented on the arrest in Italy of a suspect in sabotage attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines.
The text of the statement was published in the telegram channel of the diplomatic mission.
"Copenhagen's open opposition to Russia's initiative to launch an international independent investigation of these acts of sabotage under the auspices of the UN also gives reason to believe that Denmark was not interested in identifying the initiators, organizers, sponsors or perpetrators of acts of sabotage against the pan-European gas transportation system.
The most important thing for Copenhagen was to prevent Russia and the whole world from learning the truth about the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipeline. Instead of conducting an objective investigation and providing information on its progress, Denmark has created fertile ground for speculation and absurd assumptions that allowed to obscure the obvious: explosions on gas pipelines were not in favor of Russia, but of its opponents. The Danish side has done everything to ensure that such evidence never comes to light," Barbin said.
In words, Denmark ardently advocates a decisive fight against hybrid threats and sabotage of critical infrastructure, but in fact it does the opposite, the diplomat stated.
As reported by EADaily, Sergei Kuznetsov, detained today in Italy on suspicion of coordinating sabotage to blow up the Nord Stream oil pipelines, is a retired captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
It is noted that he was previously an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
