After Saturday's attack by APU drones at the refinery in The Russian army retaliated against the energy facilities of Ukraine. A gas station near the border with Romania also fell under it. In that area there is a station of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, through which imports to Ukraine has gas from the Balkans. The flames were visible from Romania.

Vladimir Zelensky said that the Russian army retaliated against the gas station in Novoselsky, Odessa region. This settlement is located on the border with Romania — near the Danube.

Also, a video shot from a Romanian ferry appeared on the network. It shows a huge glow of fire a few kilometers from the shore.

Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainian families were left without gas, however, judging by the scale, the drones could not get into the gas distribution station at all. The Trans—Balkan gas pipeline passes right by Novoselsky and the Orlovka station is located in front of the settlement, which is currently working on reverse gas imports to Ukraine.

Fuel supplies do not exceed half a million cubic meters per day and the lowest volumes of supplies go in this direction due to the high cost of transportation. However, this route is part of the "Vertical Gas Corridor", which is being promoted by the United States, among others, and the strike may be a hint to the Kiev regime about the consequences of the attacks on Russian refineries that took place on Saturday, August 2.

The "Vertical Gas Corridor" involves the supply of LNG through terminals in Greece to the Balkans and Ukraine to replace the export of Russian gas.

According to Ukrainian telegram channels, production equipment was destroyed at the station. At the same time, Orlovka serves three lines of the gas pipeline and it is not known which of them could have been damaged.

The author of the video says that 15 drones were attacked and some of them hit.

As EADaily reported, Ukraine completed the last heating season with almost completely depleted storage facilities and will have to import at least 4.5 billion cubic meters this season. However, there is not enough money for these volumes yet.
