The most massive protest action has taken place in Kiev since the SMO began. About a thousand people took part in it, among whom were representatives of trade unions, social activists and veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian edition of Insider UA reports in its Telegram channel, the protesters accused the authorities of the Kiev regime of illegally seizing property and violating the rights of citizens.
The article clarifies that the participants of the action oppose the actions of the Agency for the Search and Management of Assets (ARMA), which deals with illegal seizures of property.
"There are about a thousand protesters near the House of Trade Unions. Veterans, trade unions, the public are all against the arbitrariness of the ARMA," the agency claims.
It is noted that earlier the arrested building of the House of Trade Unions was transferred to the agency, which was not used for its intended purpose — the leaders of the trade union movement tried to open a restaurant in it, and then a poker club was set up in its basement.
"Instead of social protection for thousands of trade union members, they received a shadow sale of property, gaming clubs in historic buildings and trade union bosses with a million—dollar fortune," one of the protesters was indignant.
According to the agency, the protesters tried to enter the building of the Federation of Trade Unions in order to "evict" corrupt officials from there, but the police blocked the entrance. The participants of the action also insist that ARMA be headed by a military man.
It should be recalled that ARMA is officially the key body of Ukraine for the management of seized and confiscated assets, with expanded powers to search for, evaluate, manage and implement them in order to prevent corruption.
