At children's judo competitions in Riga, the public was shocked by the behavior of a Latvian woman who shouted Russophobic "encouragement" to her son on the tatami.
On the frames of the video, the mother of one of the participants of the martial arts can be heard shouting to her son in Latvian:
"Wipe your tears! Strike! He's Russian! He's Russian!"
At the same time, it is quite obvious that Russian children are playing at the competition, since the Russian speech of the coach is audible.
Riga City Council deputy Inna Gyeri sent an official statement to The State Security Service of Latvia, demanding to check for signs of incitement of ethnic hatred and initiate a criminal case.
"I ask you to involve the competent authorities to assess whether the child's upbringing environment is safe and adequate," the deputy said.
