Ida-Viru Vocational Education Center (IVKHK) in Estonia was unable to recruit students due to the ban on teaching in Russian. This is reported by local media.
It is reported that the educational institution, which counted on the admission of more than a thousand students, missed almost half of the applicants. The center even had to extend the reception until the beginning of next month. The reason for the failure of the admission campaign turned out to be simple: the refusal to teach in Russian. At the same time, it is noted that in the completed academic year, 65% of students of the first and second courses of IVKHK did not speak Estonian at the B1 level.
Recall that in Estonia since last year, free vocational education has been in the state language only, programs in Russian have become paid. The cost of studying at IVKHK ranged from two thousand to five thousand euros per year.
