The mayor of Riga awarded a history teacher who forced students to stand up to the anthem of Ukraine, filming them on the phone.
Let us remind you that the nationalist trick was committed in the Russian-speaking classroom of school No. 71 in Riga. The teacher, collaborator Andrei Vasiliev turned on "Ukraine has not died yet," and then began filming children on video, saying in Latvian:
"Show your true faces!"
The children defiantly did not get up, and this case became the subject of proceedings in the Latvian Seimas. As a result, the mayor of Riga, Dennis Kirsis, awarded Vasiliev, writing in his microblog:
"Thank you to teacher Andrei Vasiliev for the strict moral position that he conveys to his students!"
Deputy of the Jelgava Duma Andrei Pagor commented as follows:
"He [Riga Mayor Dennis Kirsis] dug himself a political grave. I immediately remembered a story in a kindergarten in the Jelgava region, where Russian children were forced to squat for every Russian word they said. Then the mayor (already former) Madars Lasmanis also decided to reward the director of the kindergarten "Saulite", thereby trying to wipe my nose and create the appearance that everything is fine in the kindergarten and the director is an adequate person. Lasmanis PR on the humiliation of children did not help. So PR on Russian schoolchildren will not help Kirsis either."
