A 57-year-old native of Vinnytsia region was preparing a terrorist attack in Sevastopol at a memorial sign in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Fleet. This was announced today, July 17, by the FSB department for the region.
According to the FSB, the detainee, who adheres to national separatist views, after the SMO began, became an active subscriber to various Ukrainian Internet resources collecting information about Russian military facilities and military personnel, air alarms, arrivals of Ukrainian UAVs and missiles.
"In the spring of 2025, the defendant learned how to manufacture and use explosive devices, after which, in the summer of the same year, he illegally manufactured an improvised explosive device, which he planned to use to commit a terrorist act — an explosion at A commemorative sign in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Fleet. The man kept the specified IED at his place of residence until it was seized by FSB officers," the report says.
