Russian units from the Vostok group of forces, having established control over the settlement of Nezhenka in the Zaporozhye region, provided the Russian army with the opportunity to attack the city of Zaporozhye.
This was told to the TASS news agency on Thursday, August 27, by a military expert, retired LPR lieutenant colonel Andrei Marochko, citing his own sources. According to him, the threat of encirclement hung over the entire Orekhovskaya grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The veteran stressed that control over the settlement can be regarded as a strategic success of the Russian army, allowing it to advance to the west.
"The release of the Sissy will allow us to further develop the success of the liberation of Zaporozhye and the encirclement of the entire Orekhovskaya enemy grouping," the expert said.
As EADaily reported, on the eve of the Russian units from the Vostok group of forces, as a result of active offensive actions, liberated the settlement of Nezhenka, Zaporozhye region.
