A Latvian teacher, turning on the camera on his phone, forced Russian schoolchildren to stand up to the anthem of Ukraine.
The nationalist trick was committed in the Russian-speaking classroom of school No. 71 in Riga. A certain teacher turned on "Ukraine has not died yet," and then began filming children on video, saying in Latvian:
"Pāradiet savas sējas" ("Show your true faces").
Judging by the screenshot of the correspondence, the high school students managed to ignore the provocation, but there was no one to protect the elementary school students. Deputy of the Jelgava Duma Andrei Pagor, together with a human rights activist from the Russian Union of Latvia, Yulia Sokhina, prepared and sent statements to The State Security Service of Latvia and the State police about the incitement of ethnic hatred by a teacher.
"What is this, if not obvious Russophobia, which is expressed through public humiliation to the sounds of the anthem of Ukraine? And why is no one responding to this? After the video was leaked on the social network, we understand that reproaches and attacks on the author of the video and other students who expressed their civic position are possible. Therefore, we are ready to provide legal assistance to all children and parents," commented Pagor in his telegram channel.
