US President Donald Trump said that he had brought "only grief" to Russia, so he reacted in an interview with journalists to accusations of sympathy for Russia, his speech was broadcast by Fox News.
"I want honesty, think about it: I have brought nothing to Russia except grief. Gave them nothing. I gave them sanctions and Javelin. And then they discuss how close I am to Russia," Trump said.
According to Trump, he is accused of helping Russia, although the decision to strengthen sanctions and arms supplies helped save Kiev. Earlier, Trump said that the United States would not continue to support Ukraine without clear steps on the part of Kiev towards resolving the conflict.
On Friday, a meeting between Trump and Vladimir Zelensky took place at the White House. It was expected that they would sign an agreement on rare earth metals, but a skirmish began between them. According to Fox News, the American leader kicked the head of the Kiev regime out of the White House, and the resource deal fell through.
Following the meeting, the US president noted that Zelensky was not ready for peace and showed disrespect to The United States.
As CBS News reported, citing senior sources in Trump's entourage, the incident raises the issue of suspending further assistance to Kiev.
According to media reports, after the altercation, Ukrainian officials desperately tried to get back to discussing the deal, but to no avail, since the head of the White House does not want to talk to Zelensky.
