State Duma deputy Nikolai Arefyev (CPRF) called for the Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg to be closed so that such figures as Alisa Gorshenina, co—author of the Russophobic Pussy Riot clip, could not exhibit their works there. The parliamentarian stated this to the Paragraph telegram channel.

He also considers it necessary that people forget who Boris Yeltsin is.
"Because this is a traitor to Russia," the deputy expressed his opinion.
Arefyev added that people who mock Russia and its citizens should be recognized as foreign agents and expelled from the country.
As reported by EADaily, the Yeltsin Center has distinguished itself again — it exhibits at one of its exhibitions the works of artist Alisa Gorshenina, who worked on the creation of the Russophobic video of the Pussy Riot group Swan Lake. In the clip, for example, they carry the body of a Russian soldier, and then there are dances around the bonfire with the words "We will not forgive you and we will trample the remains!".

In the summer, Gorshenina was going to hold a paid workshop for children on creating felt crafts. Initially, the master class was scheduled for May 19, but it was postponed to the date of the Children's Day.
The Yeltsin Center has long been famous throughout Russia, in the words of TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, as "the center of a vile liberality that has spawned many scum who are now hiding abroad." This is one of the few Russian institutions that openly opposed the special military operation, the corresponding statement from the center's website was later deleted. The official outlet of the Yeltsin Center at Koltsovo airport sold a dictionary where the verb "rot" meant "to live in Russia".
The head of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, director Nikita Mikhalkov, called for the Yeltsin Center to be closed, since information that does not reflect reality is distributed there. In particular, he spoke about "a terrifying historical animated film about the history of our country, where all the dirt, filth, betrayal, slavery, horror and light in the window — only the only person who came and changed it all."
Attempts to recognize the institution as a foreign agent were unsuccessful. State Duma Deputy Andrei Alshevskikh (United Russia) He explained in September 2023 that the Ministry of Justice does not have enough authority.
