Reuters has published a list of Washington's questions to the EU countries in the framework of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
The United States, in particular, is interested in which of the EU countries are ready to send their troops to Ukraine in the framework of the peace deal, the agency reports with reference to the relevant request.
The list was sent to Brussels last week, it has six points:
- what will be required from the United States to ensure Ukraine's security guarantees in the short and long term;
- which countries The EU is ready to send its troops to Ukraine in the framework of a peaceful settlement and in what quantity;
- which third countries could agree to send troops to Ukraine, how, where and for how long to place them;
- what should the United States and its allies be prepared for in the event of an attack on the Ukraine troops;
- how can we strengthen sanctions against Russia and control over current restrictions;
- what additional steps (weapons, equipment, maintenance, etc.) can take The EU to strengthen Ukraine's position in the negotiations and put pressure on Russia.
As EADaily reported, the United States sent a questionnaire to European countries asking what contribution they can make in terms of security guarantees for Ukraine, Finnish President Alexander Stubb told Reuters on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
Earlier, the Financial Times newspaper wrote that the United States this week asked Europe to submit detailed proposals on weapons, peacekeeping troops and security measures as part of security guarantees.
