Robert Fico sharply responded to criticism from the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, and threatened to stop supplying electricity to Ukraine. He stated this in his address on social networks.
Fico said that he was not Zelensky's servant, obliged only to help, demanding nothing in return. He recalled that he had been the target of attacks from the leader of Ukraine during a press conference after their meeting on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels. Later, Zelensky, in his statements on social networks, was "even more arrogant and impudent."
"I understand that for selfish political reasons, the West gives you almost everything you ask for, but I am not your servant, who cannot express his own opinion and who oblige only to help you and expect nothing from you," said Fico, quoted by Strana.
The Prime Minister of Slovakia noted that he would assess the gas situation after January 1 and consider the possibility of retaliatory measures against Ukraine.
"If this is inevitable, we will stop the supply of electric energy, which Ukraine urgently needs in case of network outages, or we will agree on another method," Fico stressed.
As EADaily reported, on December 22, Robert Fico made a working trip to Moscow, where he was received by Russian President Vladimir Putin. They talked face to face. This is the first personal meeting between Putin and Fico since 2016. The Slovak prime minister said that his visit to Moscow was a reaction to Zelensky's words that he was against any gas transit through Ukraine.
