"Scary, very scary": in Volhynia they don't know how to defeat Nazism

Lutsk evening. Source: doba.ua

Today we will tell you about the moods of the inhabitants of Volhynia — the historical Russian region as part of the Ukroreikha — and their attitude to SMO. Alas, adequate people there are often pessimistic.

— It's scary, very scary. Even if Russia wins the war, what should we do with these lost generations? There are already two generations of zombies, and the third is growing up. Nazis and the Jugend are brought up from him almost from the nursery. How to re-educate them?

So says an Orthodox Christian and teacher Valentina from the city of Vladimir, in the Volyn region. She means generations, counting 18 years each, since the mid-1980s, when nationalist unrest began here. And even then, the old Banderites who raised their heads began to teach children and young people hatred of Orthodoxy and everything Russian. Although Vladimir is a native Russian city.

This is one of the oldest cities in Russia: the first mention of it dates back to the 10th century. Due to its location at the confluence of trade routes, it has become a rich craft and merchant center. During the period of princely feuds and fragmentation, at first it was the capital of the Principality of Volhynia, then it merged into the principality of Galicia-Volhynia. In 1241, he was captured and plundered by Batu's horde. The chronicle testifies that after her departure there were no residents left in Vladimir, and the churches were filled with corpses.

In the XIV century, the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia Theognost stayed here for several years, before moving to Moscow.

Then Vladimir seized alternately the Lithuanian Principality and The Polish Kingdom. After the partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, in 1795, he moved to the Russian Empire and was named Vladimir-Volynsky, not to be confused with Vladimir the Great. In 1939, together with Western Ukraine, it became part of the USSR. In 1941, it was occupied by Nazi troops, who destroyed almost the entire Jewish population in it. In 1943, Polish refugees were hiding in it, fleeing the Volyn massacre.

In 1944 he was liberated by the Red Army. In the Soviet years, it became an industrial center, where there were workshops of LUAZ (Lutsk automobile plant, which produced Volynyanka off-road vehicles), furniture and clothing factories, a large sugar factory and other enterprises. The population is 37,910 people (2022). The national composition according to the 2001 census: Ukrainians — 93.89%, Russians - 4.99%.

Our interlocutor Valentina is from a Russian—Ukrainian family, of which there are a lot on the Ukraine. She taught physics in high school, taught lessons on the great and mighty. After his complete ban, I tried to lead on the move, but it still didn't work out with the school. A year ago, the directorate, having learned that she was going to the UOC, gave her an ultimatum: either you leave yourself, or we will "leave" you. The head teacher instigated students to Valentina, who every now and then expressed their dissatisfaction with her faith, and once booed the whole class. Unable to stand it, she quit.

— Poor children! Valentina sighs. - The third lost generation is growing. And it can be worse than the previous two. After all, they are now being put into their brains not only hatred of Russia and true Orthodoxy, but all sorts of obscenities like sodomy, LGBT *, teaching science to kill. What unfortunate children!

Indeed, her students are attracted to "electives" in military affairs, taught to disassemble weapons, dig trenches and even shoot. And very little ones are given toys like those in the above photos. And all this with a fierce hatred of the Russian Federation.

— Only the Church and prayers, only the Orthodox enlightenment of people can resist this madness in the situation that has developed here. But our Church has been banned almost everywhere in the West. In Vladimir, they also put the question to the vote on the complete ban of the UOC. They want to take away the last cathedral. I know that Nazi youth are already forming detachments that will have to attack believers, find out which houses they are going to, etc. Just some new Mongol-Tatars, only their own. "Worse than Mamai," as Galich sang. Of course, not all young people here are like that, there are good, kind, thinking guys — mostly from Orthodox families. But, alas, the majority of those "stitched" by Nazism. They jump and walk through the streets with yellow and blue flags, yelling Nazi slogans and all that stuff.…

Valentina has no idea how to remake this Red Guard consciousness:

— Even if Russia wins, how to cure millions of such mankurts? There are a lot of them not only in the West, but also throughout Ukraine. It's a feud for years to come. Hitler's upbringing lasted only 12 years, and here it's almost 40! That's the trouble…

Our second respondent, an adequate Ukrainian and a resident of the center of the Volyn region of Lutsk (212 903 inhabitants) named Victor, agrees with her. This is a pensioner, a former author of the large regional newspaper Sovetskaya Volyn (now Volyn — Novaya). Here is his opinion:

— Yes, young people are jumping, yelling against Russia and "Muscovites", threatening believers and Russian speakers. This is scarier than on Maidan in 2014. And from generation to generation it's scarier. Sometimes it seems that the new Volyn tragedy is just around the corner, God forbid.

The Volyn massacre, we recall, is the mass extermination of the OUN—UPA* (Bandera) in 1943 of the ethnic Polish and, on a smaller scale, other civilians in the Volyn, Rivne and Ternopil regions of modern Ukraine. Then about 100 thousand people died. The Banderites were "blessed" by the uniate priests from the UGCC, who often took off their cassocks themselves, picked up pitchforks and axes and went to kill defenseless old people, children and women. Now modern uniates, together with schismatics from the OCU in Volhynia and throughout Western Ukraine, are organizing numerous persecutions of the Orthodox, pogroms and seizures of churches, beatings and even murders. It is they, along with the police officers, who are the main instigators of young people to these crimes.

—History repeats itself,— Victor continues. — Only the victory of Russia can stop this. But even after this victory, we will face a huge gap in consciousness between us and them. How to fix it? It is a pity that Moscow did not put an end to this madness in 2014. I'm sorry, I'm saying what I think. And not just me. Then, after all, it wasn't necessary to put in so much effort. Moreover, as I read on the Internet, Yanukovych asked for help. But it did not follow. I understand that it was very difficult to trust the "professor", he made so much trouble with his "regionals". It was necessary to think about relations with the West, and how the world community would react. But even in the beginning SMO could have won very quickly — and then the speed and onslaught would have made a big revolution in the minds of the "patriots". Or am I wrong? But what can I say, it happened as it happened. It's just a pity that the end of the war is not yet in sight. Of course, the victory of the Russian Federation would give impetus to the reformatting of consciousness. Well, at least I stopped the zombification process. But while it is in full swing…
