From September 1, Arabic will be taught in Russian schools

Ministry of Education The Russian Federation has approved a program for learning Arabic in Russian schools, it will start operating on September 1 of the new academic year. This was announced today, June 19, by the head of the department Sergey Kravtsov, the press service reports.

"We have been holding an Arabic language Olympiad for three years, a program for studying Arabic in Russian schools has been approved, which will start operating on September 1 of the new academic year," Kravtsov said.

He noted that the Ministry has prepared and translated into Arabic Russian folk tales, a book about Russia and the books of Russian writers who have been transferred to United Arab Emirates.

The Ministry of Education is also considering the possibility of adding Arabic to the list of subjects for passing the Unified State Exam (now they take English, German, French, Spanish or Chinese by choice). It is planned to include the Arabic language in the list of subjects of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren.

Now about 4,000 Russian schoolchildren study Arabic.
