Japan, unfriendly to Russia, buys Russian grain

By the end of September 2024, Japan has almost tenfold increased grain imports from Russia. This was announced today, October 17, with reference to the Japanese Ministry of Finance, RIA Novosti reports.

September deliveries to the Japanese market increased by 998%.

In the first month of autumn, if we estimate the annual value of imports, Japan also increased purchases of Russian LNG by 11.7%. At the same time, imports of coal, steel and non-ferrous metals decreased.

Purchases of Russian vegetables increased by 100%, fish — by 21.6%.

According to official data of the department, in September, Japanese exports to Russia reached a monetary value of $ 223.6 million, shipments in the opposite direction — $ 438.5 million.
