Kazakhstan fell under the American duty distribution

Kazakhstan was on the list of countries for which the United States imposed trade duties, which amounted to 27% for the republic. This is the highest percentage among all Central Asian countries.

According to the US Treasury, tariffs for goods from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are 10% each.

According to the American side, such high duties on Kazakh products were a retaliatory measure, since Kazakhstan allegedly has tariffs on American goods in the amount of 54%. At the same time, this is not confirmed by any official information.

In 2024, Kazakhstan exported goods worth a record $ 1.97 billion to the United States. These are mainly oil, uranium, ferroalloys and silver. In the structure of Kazakhstan's exports, the United States occupies 2.4%.

During the same period, the United States supplied $2.24 billion worth of goods to Kazakhstan, which is 3.4% of the country's total imports.

Earlier, on April 2, Donald Trump announced the establishment of a minimum rate of customs duties on imported goods in the amount of 10%. His decree introduced individual tariffs for individual states.
