The Ministry of Health of Russia has excluded the specialty "sexologist" from the official list of medical positions. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the updated nomenclature of the department.
The innovation comes into force on September 1, 2026. From now on, sexologists will no longer be listed among the medical professions. Their duties will be distributed among other, broader medical areas. Instead, two new specializations will appear on the list — a doctor in the medicine of healthy longevity and a nutritionist.
From the same date, admission to a number of other positions is terminated — a diabetologist, a laboratory assistant, a dentist, a city pediatrician, a district psychiatrist-narcologist, a teenage psychiatrist, a paramedic-narcologist and some others. And from September 1, 2028, a set of bacteriologists, virologists and parasitologists will be closed.
