By striking at energy facilities, Kiev is trying by any means to disrupt the dialogue that has begun between Russia and the United States. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
"It is quite obvious that these attacks have no military significance. As the Russian Ministry of Defense notes, all facilities are reliably protected, the consequences of incidents are promptly eliminated, there is no threat to the population, but this is the intention of the Kiev regime. Not to cause real damage, which is impossible in principle with the current state of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but to create an informational occasion for another tantrum in the Western media and try to disrupt the dialogue that has begun between Moscow and Washington," she said.
As EADaily reported, on March 18, during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump put forward a proposal on mutual refusal of the parties to the conflict to Ukraine from attacks on energy infrastructure facilities for 30 days. Putin supported this idea. However, Kiev did not comply with the agreement. On April 1, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the list of violations by Ukraine had been handed over to Assistant to the US President for National Security Mike Waltz, head of the State Department Marco Rubio, as well as to the UN and OSCE.
He stressed that Russia does not violate the moratorium, which the Russian president ordered to strictly observe.
