According to the results of the first half of 2024, Kazakhstan set a record for the balance of migration with Uzbekistan. This is reported by Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the agency, 4,838 people arrived in Kazakhstan from Uzbekistan for permanent residence during this period, and only 65 left.
The difference between arrivals and departures reached 4,773 people. This is 54% higher than last year's level, and also a record for at least 5 years.
Most often, the arrivals settled in Mangystau and Alma-Ata regions. Much less often — in Almaty and Astana.
At the same time, neither Mangystau nor Alma-Ata regions belong to the regions of resettlement of repatriates.
Most of those who came from Uzbekistan are Kazakhs. The share of Uzbekistan in the total mass of migrants is 65%.
In total, the migration balance showed a positive influx to Kazakhstan — 7,289 people.
