Who is the main importer: Turkey has calculated billions of dollars in earnings from carpet exports

Revenue from the export of Turkish carpets in January — June 2024 amounted to $ 1 billion 374 million. Manufacturers have sold 283 million 792 thousand square meters to 183 countries, as reported by the Turkish edition of Sözcu.

Thus, carpet manufacturers in Turkey increased export revenue by 7.6% compared to the first half of 2023.

The sector received the largest income from machine—made carpets - 1 billion 85 million 417 thousand dollars. The rest of the amount was distributed between tufted carpets and handmade products.

Interestingly, most of the carpets from Turkey migrated not to the walls of Russian apartments, but were sold in the USA. Americans bought such products in the amount of 397 million 757 thousand dollars. Saudi Arabia was in second place among the top importers with 165 million 200 thousand dollars, England was in third with 89 million 795 thousand dollars, and Iraq was on the fourth line of the rating with 81 million 480 thousand dollars.

Russians did not get into the top 4 buyers of Turkish carpets, as well as practical Germans, who, together with Russian citizens, make up the absolute majority of guests at Turkish resorts.
