Starting from today, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) switched to the Russian gas, said Speaker of the DPR People’s Council Andrey Purgin.
“From now on, the republic will be using the Russian gas,” he said. “The gas flows were redirected to other pipelines overnight,” Novorossiya Press Center quotes Purgin as saying.
The вepartment of the gas mains of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) announced on February 18 that the gas reserves in LPR and DPR would be sufficient for a day.
“Ukraine cut off the gas supplies to the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. “It was done in a barbaric way – valves of the main pipeline were dismantled so that their re-switching has become impossible,” engineer-in-chief Vadim Tupoi said.
Head of the LPR Igor Plotnitskiy confirmed the reports. “Gas supplies were cut off yesterday. They said it was a technical problem and promised to repair,” he said.
“They blocked the valve yesterday, the transformer was damaged by gunfire. They shut off gas supplies from Novopskov,” he added
Plotnitskiy warned Kiev: “After all, we can respond and take adequate measures. We have repeatedly said: the people there, in the area under control of Ukraine’s military, are also our citizens,” he said. “We do not want to act under influence of anger or meanness. What is happening now is enough.”
