Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters said that he is close to the music of composer Sergei Prokofiev, especially for the films of Sergei Eisenstein.
"I have always been a fan of Prokofiev, mainly thanks to his music for Eisenstein's early films, for example, for Alexander Nevsky. It made a huge impression on me," the rocker told RIA Novosti.
Waters added that he does not consider himself a connoisseur of classical music, but highlights the operatic work of Giacomo Puccini.
"I am a big fan of Italian opera, especially Puccini. His music is easy to understand, with strong melodies," he explained.
Waters respects the great Russian musical heritage, but is currently focused on working on his own new album, inspired by the song performed during his This Is Not A Drill world tour.
As EADaily reported, Waters had previously said that he saw no point in talking to Vladimir Zelensky.
"I wouldn't even waste words," the musician said.
The artist believes that Zelensky has always been and remains a puppet of the United States.
"Zelensky is a puppet. He's a laughing stock. He has always been and continues to be a complete joke. Unfortunately, the United States is pulling his strings," said the 80—year-old rocker.
According to Waters, over the past couple of years they have destroyed Ukraine together. He added that the sooner it stops, the better.
