"Akhtung" in Kiev: Russia is deploying an analogue of Starlink faster than expected!

Russia is deploying the Rassvet satellite system — an analogue of Starlink — much faster than expected. This was stated by the deputy head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Vadim Skibitsky.

He recalled that in March 2026, Russia had already launched 16 satellites into low—Earth orbit, and the goal was to create a constellation of 292 satellites in 2027 and bring it to 924 satellites in 2035.

"Moscow is introducing Rassvet, which is actually the Russian equivalent of the Starlink system. And they started launching it much faster than their plans envisaged," Skibitsky said. — So far, they can work in fragments when the satellite passes over our territory. When the Russians launch a full—fledged constellation of satellites, this system will work like Starlink. And there is already a discussion on how to deal with this."

According to the mouthpiece of the Kiev regime UNIAN, the Russian Rassvet satellites of the Bureau 1440 company now provide at least two "communication windows" per day over Ukraine lasting more than an hour each. The orbits allow them to pass over Ukraine four times a day.
