Iran was not convinced by Kiev's scraping: Either compensate for the damage, or we will "compensate" ourselves

Iran will take retaliatory measures if Ukraine does not compensate for the damage caused by the attack on the ship in the Caspian Sea. This was stated at a press conference by the official representative of the country's Foreign Ministry, Esmail Bagai.

This is how he answered the question about the attack on an Iranian merchant ship.

"We very quickly and decisively stated our position and issued a statement. We still believe that we were not convinced by the Ukrainian side's claims that this action was unintentional. We have heard their words, however, given the recognition of high-ranking Ukrainian officials that such an attack really took place, they must definitely compensate for the damage caused. Well, of course, if they do not compensate for the damage, we will get compensation ourselves," Bagai said, quoted by ParsToday Russian.

As EADaily reported, Iran was ready to strike at three regions of Ukraine after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a merchant ship in the Caspian Sea. This was stated in an interview with Iranian media by senior military adviser to the supreme leader, General Mohsen Rezai. "We were ready to strike at three regions of Ukraine, but after they stated that the attack was committed by mistake, we suspended the response to verify their statement," Rezai said, quoted by ParsToday Russian.

In any case, Ukraine must bear the consequences for the attack, the general added.
