The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense explained why Ukrainian drones no longer fall in The Baltic States

A study of the wreckage of drones found in Lithuania shows that these are Ukrainian drones that went off course under the influence of Russian electronic warfare. This was stated by Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas.

According to him, at the moment there is no evidence that the drones found in Lithuania were deliberately sent there by Russia.

"At the moment we have such evidence and confirmation, but this does not guarantee that Russia will not arrange a provocation under a false flag. In each case, when we find the wreckage of Ukrainian drones, our services have the opportunity to check the data systems, software and clarify information from partners on Ukraine. Therefore, we stated quite clearly that Ukrainian drones fell in Lithuania, which Russia influenced by electronic warfare, and they deviated from their course," he said.

The Minister also stressed that Lithuania informs the public and allies about such incidents only if there is confirmed information.

"In those cases when the drones did not fall, but disappeared from our airspace, we did not find any debris, so we do not report or confirm which country these drones belonged to, because it is not always possible to establish… We don't Russia, we do not lie, in every case we speak very openly and honestly so as not to mislead either our partners or society," Kaunas stressed.

The head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense also believes that violations of airspace in the Baltic countries have stopped, as Ukraine strikes targets deep into Russia.

"I think it's good that they don't fly into our airspace. Because, despite the fact that Ukraine has the right to defend itself and successfully does it, our airspace and the safety of our citizens remain our top priority. However, this is probably primarily due to the fighting in Russia itself, due to the fact that targets located far from our border are being attacked," Kaunas said.

Recall, in May in An air alert was announced in the Utena county after reports of two drones that flew into the territory of Lithuania. A red-level air alert was also announced in Vilnius County. This was the first such case in the history of Lithuania.
