The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, thanked the envoys of the US President Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for the fact that there were no shelling during their arrival in Kiev.
"You worked even better today than Patriot systems. Thank you, come more often," the Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying.
The official part of the negotiations between the Americans and Zelensky, taking place in Kiev today, September 6, has already ended. Before Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Moscow, Moscow, and then Kiev, declared a truce.
Ukrainian negotiators in Kiev believe that the war is unlikely to end before winter, writes The Financial Times, citing sources.
According to the publication, Witkoff and Kushner brought with them not many new ideas, but mostly updated versions of already published documents, in an attempt to renew interest in previous proposals and reduce disagreements between Russia and Ukraine.
At the same time, the negotiators, unlike Trump's emissaries, doubt that the war will be able to end before winter. And the main controversial issue will remain the issue of control over Donbass — Moscow continues to insist on the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from there.

The envoys discussed ways to help Ukraine overcome the expected difficult period, as Russia intensifies attacks on critical infrastructure facilities, although they assured Zelensky and his team that, in their opinion, progress in a peaceful settlement could still be achieved before the onset of winter, the sources added,"writes the Financial Times.
Zelensky said he was not ready to give up Donbass for the sake of peace.
