In Germany, sabotage on the railways has become more frequent — the scale is amazing

The German railway network has faced a series of sabotage operations organized by the underground leftist eco-group Kommando Angry Birds. This is reported by Bild, which has at its disposal the secret report of the Deutsche Bahn operator.

Another crime was committed early this morning in the north of Germany. The target of the attackers was a switchboard in Neu-Wulmstorf, Lower Saxony. As a result, the work of the important Hamburg — Cuxhaven commuter line was disrupted: more than 200 passenger flights were canceled, 19 freight trains were suddenly stopped halfway.

The list of attacks for the first half of 2026 is impressive: a total of 2,200 cases of arson, theft of metal and dangerous interference in the operation of infrastructure. This is a 7% increase compared to the same period last year.

One of the latest episodes occurred last Friday: the arson of cable channels cut the main highway of North Rhine—Westphalia between Cologne and Dusseldorf.

Not only passengers suffer from attacks: saboteurs purposefully attack allegedly secondary lines — the main routes for heavy cargo transportation. If there is a "red light", factories stop receiving goods. Industrial production is slowing down, which is causing serious damage to the entire German economy.

Kommando Angry Birds positions itself as a movement of eco-extremists and anarcho-primitivists. The participants oppose "technological escalation", mass extinction of species and demand the complete dismantling of the "industrial system". The special services of Germany (in particular, in the state of North Rhine —Westphalia) believe that the group does not have a clear hierarchy. The name is used as a "franchise" or a common brand under which different decentralized cells take responsibility for attacks.
