Arrival of Russian warships in Venezuela is changing the balance of power in the region. This was stated on the YouTube channel by Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs.
"Russian warships have arrived in the waters of Venezuela, which changes the balance of power in the region. This is not a symbolic gesture, but a thoughtful change in the balance of power. Venezuela has strengthened alliances with Russia, China and Iran in response to US pressure. American officials and the media are outraged by the presence of Russian ships. Their reaction ignores the provocative architecture created by the United States around Venezuela," Sachs said.
Sachs noted that the deployment of warships of the Russian Navy in Venezuela is part of Moscow's response to NATO's actions.
"Russian warships in the Caribbean Sea do not change the balance of power, as the United States has overwhelming naval superiority. Russia's presence symbolizes commitment and willingness to fight for spheres of influence. Russia is showing Venezuela and other Latin American countries alternatives to an alliance with the United States," Sachs believes.
According to him, Moscow supports Venezuela out of strategic interests, Beijing provides investment loans, and Tehran provides fuel and technical assistance. These alliances are the result of American pressure, the expert stressed.
As reported by EADaily, Russian warships are off the coast of Venezuela, stating the geopolitical intentions of the Russian Federation. This was stated on the YouTube channel by Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs.
