The Brigade commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who attacked the Kursk region, died under unclear circumstances

Commander of the 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade (OMBR) AFU Colonel Vladimir Kononnikov died under unknown circumstances in the Zaporozhye region.

According to Ukrainian sources, the brigade commander's body was found without signs of life. At the same time, it is indicated that no signs of the officer's violent death were found.

Information about Kononnikov's death was confirmed by the press service of the operational command of the Ukrainian group "South". They said that an investigation had been launched into this fact, no other details were given.

It is known that at present the 154th OMBR is based in the Gulyai-Pole area. This brigade participated in the initial stage of the invasion of the Kursk region in 2024.
