The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that Europe could face the same problems in the future that the Baltic states are experiencing now in the field of security. She stated this the day before at a joint meeting with the Presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia press conference in Vilnius.
Earlier, an air alert was announced in Latvia due to the appearance of unknown drones, during which exams at schools were interrupted and children were evacuated. In addition, Ukrainian attack drones fell several times in Latvia, on May 7 they damaged an oil depot in the city of Rezekne.
"What you are going through today, the rest of Europe can expect tomorrow," von der Leyen said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
The European Union will "systematically" eliminate shortcomings in its security system, "starting with more unified warning systems and improving interstate coordination," the head of the EC added.
