Media: Iran offered the United States to open the Strait of Hormuz, but with the condition

Tehran has offered the United States to open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for compensation from Washington. This was reported by the Saudi TV channel Al Arabiya, citing diplomatic sources.

"Iran has offered to open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the payment of compensation by the United States," the channel's interlocutors said.

According to their information, Iran has submitted two proposals to Pakistan, acting as a mediator in indirect negotiations with the United States. At the same time, the Iranian authorities also offered to "discuss the dossier of sanctions and frozen assets before signing any agreement."

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bagai said that the nuclear dossier and the issue of lifting sanctions will not be touched upon at the current stage of negotiations with the United States. According to him, the requirement to lift restrictions is Iran's unchanged position and will be discussed at the next stages after the completion of work on the agreement. Field Marshal Asim Munir, commander of the Pakistani Army, arrived in Tehran on Friday as part of a mediation mission. He has already held meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
