Estonia has found a unique solution to isolate itself from Russia. This is reported by the Polish radio station RMF24.

"The Estonian authorities have decided to strengthen control over the border with Russia. The new radar system, consisting of 14 towers, will operate near the Narva River, from its mouth in the Gulf of Finland to Lake Pape, ERR Radio reports. Veiko Kommusaar, Deputy commander of the Estonian Police and Border Guard (PPA), called the project, which should help detect drones, a "unique solution," the radio reports.

According to the project, it is planned to build 14 towers along the northeastern border of Estonia, as well as a road for patrolling. The section from the banks of the river to the nearest main road is currently in the "gray zone," Interior Minister Igor Taro said.

The radar system and related infrastructure should be ready by 2027. Now the Estonian services control about 70% of the border area of the Narva River.

It is noted that Estonia is creating a new system due to significant gaps in the existing one. In particular, last autumn, Russian border guards entered the territory of Estonia, passed through Narva on a hovercraft and descended to the breakwater located on the Estonian side. And in March, during the Ukrainian attacks on Russian ports and oil terminals located near the Estonian border, several APU drones flew into the country's airspace, one of which hit the chimney of the Auvere power plant near Narva.
